Services / Dromo Lab

Applied materials research for surfaces that must perform.

Bring Dromo a material, a failure, a construction question or a research brief. We connect the performance problem with the right investigation, testing and field evidence.

Start with the engineering question—not a standard test list.

Dromo Lab is the applied research and testing function behind Dromo’s surface engineering. It combines internal performance knowledge with qualified partner laboratories, universities, suppliers and project teams according to the assignment.

The programme may address asphalt, concrete, binders, aggregates, recycled or alternative materials, surface texture, water interaction, ageing, construction variability or failure diagnosis. Test methods and acceptance logic are selected for the real operating condition rather than presented as universal recipes.

Scope and evidence

Testing is assigned to the right facility.

Dromo Lab does not imply that every test is performed in a single Dromo-owned accredited laboratory. Accreditation, chain of custody, method, partner and reporting status are declared assignment by assignment.

Connected Dromo system

Research, engineering and delivery remain connected.

Technical evidence

Measured, modelled and verified.

Dromo project and technical archive. Images are selected for public-safe editorial use; confidential project data is excluded.

False-colour map of measured pavement texture
Measured texture data helps distinguish surface character from visual appearance.
Close-up of asphalt surface macrotexture
Aggregate structure and surface texture influence water release, grip and tyre interaction.
Aggregate handling at an asphalt production facility
Material control begins with the aggregate system and continues through production and paving.
Comparison of two asphalt core samples
Core samples provide evidence of layer structure, aggregate skeleton and compaction.
Series of asphalt core samples prepared for laboratory review
A controlled sample series supports comparison between mixes, locations and construction states.
Asphalt mixture and aggregate specimens prepared for evaluation
Candidate materials are compared before the project-specific surface is finalised.
