Services / Environment & Permitting

Make environmental evidence part of the design pathway.

Major venues are authorised through connected evidence on acoustics, mobility, water, biodiversity, landscape, air quality, materials, emergency planning and operational monitoring.

An environmental file is a decision system, not a report at the end.

Dromo coordinates its circuit-design and specialist-engineering inputs with the environmental assessment and permitting pathway appropriate to the project, jurisdiction and statutory roles. The objective is to keep geometry, construction, event operation, mitigation and verification aligned while design options can still change.

Dromo does not present an authority’s environmental decision, or third-party submissions in a public administrative file, as its own findings. Each source is identified by role and used as traceable evidence of the questions the project had to answer.

Connected assessment

Environmental workstreams that change the project.

01

Acoustic Assessment

Model moving sources, event scenarios, propagation, receivers, uncertainty and verification.

02

Mobility & Access

Test event demand, public transport, neighbourhood access, construction logistics and emergency movement.

03

Water & Drainage

Coordinate runoff, natural drainage, water quality, flood exposure and temporary works.

04

Ecology & Landscape

Address vegetation, habitat, restoration, visual integration and monitoring commitments.

05

Construction Effects

Control dust, noise, waste, soil, materials, working hours and incident response.

06

Operational Monitoring

Define per-event checks, complaints response, accredited inspection and environmental reporting.

Public case evidence / MADRING

A conditional, monitored route to authorisation.

The official SEA 67/24 decision links the environmental route to the treatment of acoustic-quality limits and to a wider set of project conditions. It does not erase environmental responsibility: it converts the approved route into a defined programme of controls, authorisations and follow-up.

The decision requires event-by-event checks of external noise emissions, a complaints and noise-minimisation plan, environmental and incident registers, periodic compliance reporting and external noise controls by an accredited inspection entity. It also addresses water, drainage, vegetation, landscape restoration, waste, contamination risk, cultural heritage and emergency response.

The public administrative dossier also contains critical third-party submissions concerning noise, mobility and environmental effects. Those submissions are relevant evidence of scrutiny, but they are not represented here as the authority’s adopted findings.

Continue through the evidence chain

Design, acoustics, assessment and delivery remain connected.

Madrid / public environmental record

Environmental assessment connects source behaviour, territory and operating scenarios.

The public 2024 dossier combines Dromo’s motorsport acoustic study with a wider, multi-author environmental package. The distinction matters: Dromo is identified as author of the acoustic annex; the mobility, access and tree-inventory figures below are documentary evidence from the broader assessment.

Mobility & access

Event demand is assessed as a spatial and operational system.

Transit interfaces, shuttles, taxi and VTC operations, pedestrian routes and differentiated gateways have environmental consequences of their own. They influence traffic demand, neighbourhood continuity, emergency planning and the footprint required beyond the racing surface.

Wider public EIA package. Northern pedestrian and shuttle access is resolved as a detailed operating layer rather than a generic arrival arrow. This figure is not presented as Dromo-authored.

Ecology & landscape baseline

The project footprint is checked against inventoried environmental assets.

An environmental baseline must be spatially explicit. Mapping inventoried tree stands against permanent and temporary works makes avoidance, protection, mitigation and later verification traceable as the design develops.

Wider public EIA package. Numbered tree stands are mapped against the circuit and temporary event footprint, creating a traceable environmental baseline for avoidance, protection and mitigation. This figure is not presented as Dromo-authored.

Build the evidence pathway before design choices close.

Dromo can align circuit design, specialist studies, authority interfaces, mitigation and verification without blurring statutory responsibilities.
