Circuit Safety Engineering
Circuit safety is a system, not a collection of isolated barriers. Vehicle trajectory, speed, impact angle, run-off geometry, surface condition, drainage, visibility and operations all influence the outcome. Dromo studies those interactions to develop proportionate, buildable upgrades.
Evidence-led assessment
The assessment combines survey information, simulation, incident history and the intended categories of use. Each location is reviewed in context: where a vehicle may leave the track, how speed can be reduced and how the protection system interacts with marshals, rescue access and spectators.
Integrated safety design
Potential measures may include geometry changes, run-off reconfiguration, gravel or asphalt zones, barrier revisions, debris fencing, kerbs, drainage or improved sight lines. Options are compared for safety effect, constructability, operational impact and cost rather than treated as interchangeable standard details.
Upgrades without losing circuit identity
Existing circuits carry sporting, historic and commercial value. The design process seeks to retain the character drivers recognise while responding to new vehicles, regulations and operating needs. Phasing and construction support help circuits carry out work within constrained shutdown periods.
